Lake Macquarie itself is the perfect playground for just about any aquatic fun you can imagine! From swimming and sailing to boating, jet skiing and water skiing – the largest salt water lake in the Southern hemisphere has something for everyone.

For the beach-bums and outdoor types, there’s Redhead Beach, Speers Point Park (with its maze of bike paths, an array of children’s play equipment and a peaceful café), Wallarah National Park, and the Glenrock and Munmorah State Conservation Areas with their stunning walking and bike trails.

A little more daring? Skydive Newcastle will get your adrenaline pumping. Want to keep the action closer to the ground? Hunter Ice Skating Stadium, Belmont Golf Course, and the Lake Macquarie Performing Arts Centre have you covered. And if you’re feeling the need for a little retail therapy, Charlestown Square is just a short drive away.
